Descriptif : Candidates preparing a joint supervision doctorate have to meet the conditions of admission in thesis in both universities. Registration fees are charged in one university only. Candidates have to possess social security cover and individual insurance valid in each of the two countries. The conditions of accommodation and financial support to mobility will be precised in the special clauses of the convention. Doctoral students do their research work under the control and responsibility of a thesis supervisor in each of the two institutions. The two supervisors agree to carry out their function of tutor of the doctoral student. The Doctoral School director commits to enforce the rules of his Doctoral School. The time for preparation of the thesis will be shared alternately and in balanced periods between the two institutions. The thesis will terminate with a single viva voce examination, the result of which will be recognized by the two institutions. The viva voce examining board jointly designated by the two universities will be equally composed of members from each institution and will besides consist of persons exterior to the universities. The members of the board cannot exceed the number of eight. The language in which the thesis is written is defined in the special clauses of this convention. If the language is not French, the thesis will be completed by a substantial summary in French or Enghish. Following success in the viva voce examination, and considering the examination report, the two universities will award, either separately or jointly, the diploma of Doctor. The diploma has to mention of name of speciality or field of study, the title of the thesis or name of the main research works, the mention of international joint supervision of thesis, the name and title of the members of the examination board, and the date of defence of the thesis.
