The “Signaling in Development and Brain Tumors” laboratory (https://curie.fr/equipe/ayrault) at Curie Institute, headed by Olivier Ayrault, is seeking a motivated bioinformatics engineer. Our team employs cutting-edge high-throughput multiomic approaches (genome, transcriptome, phospho-proteome and metabolome) ranging from bulk, single cell to spatial data in order to elucidate mechanistic hypotheses connecting different regulatory networks (transcription factor, signalling and metabolic networks) and the spatio-temporal origins of medulloblastoma tumors.
We are currently located on the Orsay campus, and will be moving to Curie campus, in the centre of Paris, at the beginning of January 2025. Institute Curie is one of the world’s leading institutions in cancer research. It represents an excellent and international environment with interdisciplinary expertise and high-quality technological platforms.
Missions
In strong collaboration with bioinformatics/biologists in the team, the candidate will conduct analysis of different omics: bulk genome, bulk transcriptome, (NGS technology), bulk Phospho-proteome (Mass Spectrometry) as well as single cell (10x technology) and spatial (VISIUM, MERFISH technologies…) data. In addition, the candidate will explore novel multiomic approaches to integrate different omics datasets and extract biological insights/hypotheses.
Training and experience required
- Training: applicant should hold, or be in the process of completing, a master or engineer degree in bioinformatics or related areas (Computer Science, Applied Mathematics...)
- Scientific skills: should have solid computational skills, and a strong interest in cancer biology, multiomics and/or developmental biology
- Professional experience desirable in some of these fields: experience with NGS/mass spectrometry/single-cell omics
Skills required
- Language skills: good English level and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, to communicate and to work in an interdisciplinary team
-The candidate should be highly motivated, curious, and enthusiastic to work in a collaborative team
